Google Analytics Real Time

Google recently launched real time for analytics, may be it is not 100% accurate but it is really cool to see number of current users on your site in real time :)

It is so cool that you can number users in different location, the pages that they are currently viewing and almost all the regular data available on Google Analytics.

The Booth At The End

The Booth At The End is a web series by Fox Entertainment. It is a psychological drama, a mysterious man sits at the booth at the end of a diner. People come to him with things they want: a parent with a sick child, a woman who wants to be prettier, a nun who wants to hear god again. The man can make these things happen. For a price. In exchange for what they want, these individuals must sacrifice their morals and do deeds normally inconceivable to them. Set off a bomb. Rob a bank. Kill a child. They must return to the man and describe every step in detail. As the characters' tasks begin to overlap, complications ensue. But the man never forces anyone to do anything. It's always up to them to start or stop with one lingering question: how far would you go to get what you want?

Website
This consists of 62 short episodes and an episode is released daily. As on today(19th Mar '11) 16 episodes are released. Once you get into the story you will be curious to know what happens next. The big picture of series looks like a complete planning based on the morals which is nicely tailored. You can watch all the episodes online as and when it is released in the website thebooth.fxuk.com

Can You Kill?
Can you kill? is the game developed in conjunction to this web series to deeply engage audience and also to check their moral, how far would they go to get what they want. Would you kill someone to get what you want? Play this game after watching at least 25 episodes and you would really want to know the cool stats provided in the game. It aggregates data of audiences world wide and is interesting to see the stats break down into different age groups and between male and female and also for different countries.

The Deal
The deal is a face book game which is yet to be released. This is again a cool game which is aimed at engaging audience who love facebook and like to play the game with their friends. I like the concept of this game because it is again playing with your own friends. You request your friends for help, and complete some tasks for them. Of course this game has some bots to keep the game interesting. I loved the beta version that I testing and waiting for the final release. Hopefully it will be released by the end of this month.

Dynamic Facebook Like Button

Recently, some of my friends was asking the simplest way to automatically fetch the url of the current page for Like button. Though this can be done using serverside scripts, the simplest way would be to include it using the javascript. All you need is a javascript file which writes an iframe like button with dynamic url and include that in the html using script tag. Below is the simple example!

Javascript - facebookshare.js
document.write('<iframe scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:100px; height:21px;" allowtransparency="true" src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=' + escape(location.href) + '&layout=button_count&show_faces=true&width=100&action=like&font=segoe+ui&colorscheme=light&height=21"></iframe>')

HTML

<html>
<title>Facebook Like Button Test</title>
<body>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="facebookshare.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
